Краткое содержание:
Jamie and his half-brother Tommy are illegitimate outcasts in their Scottish coal-mining village toward the end of WWII. They live with their mother’s mother but Jamie in particular wants a father figure. He bonds with a German POW who works in the local farming community, and is heartbroken when the war ends and the man is repatriated.
